2008 Nissan X-Trail

Nissan will be unveiling the brand new 2008 Nissan X-Trail at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show with eventual launches in Europe this summer and Japan sometime after that. Thailand might also expect the new 2008 X-Trail this year or next year since the current X-Trail is lagging far behind the Honda CR-V, and will soon face new competition from the Chevrolet Captiva which should be launched at the Bangkok International Motor Show at the end of the month.

The all-new Nissan X-Trail is a strange update, in that on first glance you might easily mistake it for the outgoing model. On closer attention the changes are obvious and - according to Nissan - everything is new and improved.

Typical Thai Bus! No.... really! - Disco lights

Enough sound equipment to make your ears bleed, enough flashing lights and disco globes to induce an epileptic fit in a blind person. This bus is the bangin'.

Mixer table complete with 3 CD drives is used to pump out the tunes. They even play requests, as long as you like luktung (Thai country tunes).

I didn't ask him where he got all the Nissan badges from. Some look like they were nicked off Teanas while others look like they came of Frontiers. If you are missing a badge off your Nissan... maybe it's one of these!

I'm guessing the bus is a Nissan.

Typical Thai Bus! No.... really! - Let there be light!

Placement and quantity of lamps might look excessive on first inspection, however it might be necessary to compensate for the reduced visibility suffered due to the windscreen decals and the very low seating position of the driver.

Okay, sadly enough I've counted them for you. 42 of the large round lamps, 20 of the small green lamps and 2 medium sized blue lamps are strategically placed to augment the obviously-inadequate stock light clusters.

12 wing mirrors are installed, with 4 aimed rearward and the remaining 8 pointing at the front.

Crazy stuff. How can you not be impressed?

Artwork on these buses is always bright and vibrant. Small door opens to reveal a little sleeping compartment and a lot of wiring!
