Motor Expo Most Wanted - Toyota Auris
Continuing our look at cars that are unlikely to be at the Thailand International Motor Expo, but that we'd like to see there all the same, it's time to take a look a the Toyota Auris.
Toyota are the biggest selling auto maker in Thailand. Their range of cars is large too, with no less than twelve models in the lineup. Surely there's something for everyone in that lot? That might be the case, but it would help make the Motor Expo interesting if Toyota brought one of these along:
The Auris is just about to hit the European market, and Toyota is so adamant that this car is so far removed from the Corolla that it replaces, that they've decided to rename it. No more Corolla!
The Corolla has become synonymous with value and quality, but let's face it, the Toyota Corolla has never been an interesting car. Toyota has been working hard of late to shake off its conservative image, and the Auris is another example of this ongoing effort.
As in the case of the Yaris, the Auris has been designed in Toyota's European design studio, and the similarities between the two cars is apparent, with the Auris looking like a grown up and slightly less cute version of the Yaris.
The interior is perhaps even more refreshing. Perhaps not as radical as the Honda Civic, but maybe that's a good thing.
The Corolla Altis has been around in Thailand long enough I say. Bring the Auris to Thailand in hatchback as well as sedan versions, and do it now.
Of the cars we've looked at so far this is probably the most likely to make an appearance at the Expo, but I'm not holding my breath.
Check back tomorrow for more cars Toyota will probably not be bring to the Thailand International Motor Expo.
