Honda Civic Cut in Half - Accident
Submitted by peter on 5 July, 2008 - 13:02.
These pictures of a 2005-2008 model Honda Civic are being circulated via email forwards. The car appears to have been cut in half. Noice in the image of the front section of the car, you can see the rear section of the car resting about 20-30 metres away.
The car's LPG tank was expelled through the boot and is on the road to the right of the car in the image below. The car has a Bangkok registration plate.

Does anyone have any information on this?

This accident took place at route#24 Sikew-Chokchai-Detchudom.
Pick-up truck's driver, indicated as pink car in first picture, carelessly drove the car in reverse direction in order to short cut the distance. While he was doing this instead of using next U-turn point ahead, civic's driver was on the way in passing slower car ahead (indicated slower car in green color and civic car in blue color). Then, "BANG" two cars hit each other.
Pick-up landed in the gap betweeen the road while civic was cut in half by shear force at another site of the road. Fortunately, civic's driver is fine as you can see in the reply#5 picture he was collecting his belongings in the damaged car and even took the pictures which I believe shown in this webpage by himself. Moreover, LPG gas tank that was just installed on civic car did not exploded or leak.
Civic driver family is going to sue pick-up driver for the compensation cost. I hope they can settle down in a good way.

Thank you, ketarou. Amazing
Thank you, ketarou. Amazing to learn that the driver survived. That's good news. Hopefully this will help some people to think twice before they attempt to backup on a highway like this.
Thanks again for the link and information.
