Honda Price Rise

The 2nd generation Honda Jazz has been selling very well in Thailand since its launch earlier this year. Perhaps too well, and although the Honda Thailand website still shows the same pricing on the Jazz since the launch, dealer price lists tell a different story. The price of the Jazz has crept up by THB 10,000 across the board.

This increase means that the base model is now THB 560,000, and the top model THB 705,000.

This still makes the Jazz better value than the previous model, as the price is including the lower excise tax rate enjoyed by all E20 capable cars. But the previous top model Jazz was just THB 715,000. Is Honda pocketing some of the tax cut?

The competing Toyota Yaris is priced starting at THB 524,000, up to THB 699,000 for the top model.

CR-V also more expensive

The price of the CR-V has also risen, if the dealer price list I saw was accurate. The base model has risen by THB 14,000 from THB 1,111,0000, to THB 1,125,000.

The CR-V, like the Jazz and the rest of the Honda model line-up, also benefits from the lower excise rate afforded to E20 capable vehicles. At the start of the year Honda slashed the price of the CR-V to reflect this.
