Chevrolet Cruze to be the 2010 Optra
Update (28 Sep 08) : Interior image added.
GM recently unveiled the Chevrolet Cruze, which is to be the new global compact car for the auto giant. This is likely to replace the Optra here in Thailand within 2009. It is likely that the car will be called the Optra here.
Apart from the images there is previous little else in the way of details to share at this point, but lets speculate.
It is likely that the 2010 Optra will arrive next year. Although there is talk of several interesting engine options for the Cruse in the US, including the new 1.4 litre turbo, we can expect Chevrolet to use their existing 1.6 and 1.8 litre line-up here in Thailand.
There is talk that Chevrolet might use a E85 capable engine in the next-generation Optra, and that would probably be a good idea. Chevrolet enjoyed some success in Thailand with the CNG equipped Optra and Optra Estate models. Chevrolet could take an early lead in the E85 game if the new Optra were to be E85 capable from launch.
